• Question: what is your favourite of the bases (including the one in rna that replaces one of them i cant remember what its called)

      Uracil is the one that replaces Thymine in RNA 🙂

      I actually love a very rare base found in some viruses that infect bacteria called bacteriophage which is 2 Aminoadenine which is designated Z base!

      Great question – it’s not something I’ve ever considered before. I think my favourite might be Guanine, simply because the word is close to Guano, which is another word for seabird poop.

      I guess I’d have to say cytosine since I work on DNA methylation, which is a chemical modification to cytosine that can change the way genes are expressed in a cell, thus potentially changing cell behaviour or identity.
