Going abroad is both easy and difficult at the same time.
Once all the paperwork and documents are done (the annoying bit) moving to another country is thrilling. You can create a new life for yourself, meet new people and discover places and culture you have never met in your life.

That said the changes and leaving friends and family behind can be difficult and being alone in another country can be very challenging, especially in the beginning when you don’t know people around you and how things work.

Moving into a scientific environment I think helps a lot, because scientists can be friendly people to meet and make you feel welcome 🙂

In my experience it was worth it. I moved twice now in two different countries and this formed me in so many ways! I would never be the person I am today if I didn’t take that jump.

If you feel like moving abroad I would say give it a try!
And if things go bad remember that it is not permanent and you will always have a home to go back to.
